Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

After a great deal of discussion, deliberation, and consideration, The Club’s Board of Directors has made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel this year’s summer recreation program. This decision was not arrived at quickly, and was made out of an abundance of caution and concern.

For those who are unaware, I have been away from The Club since the end of February after my son was diagnosed with a serious medical issue that requires extensive and prolonged care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. I will continue to be away from The Club, and my own home, through at least the summer.

The Club's summer program is by far the most complex and costly program we operate. There are many moving pieces and any number of behind the scenes tasks that must be completed to keep the program safe, cost effective, and successful. It has always been my direct responsibility to ensure that everything is in order, adequate funding is in place, and that safety is being maintained. I have been unable to meet this responsibility while I have been away seeing to my son's care and the needs of my family. Sadly, I will continue to be away from The Club, and my own home, through the summer. The Club's Board of Directors expressed a great deal of unease over offering the summer program without experienced executive leadership to guide the operation.

Please accept our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience and hardship this development undoubtedly causes for the families we serve at The Club. Your understanding is greatly appreciated during this challenging time.
